Well this is a tough question. It really depends on how much you use Pet Tutor(r)...we like to play the Kong(r) Wobbler game with the remote every day to give our dog his meal. And we do recommend using Pet Tutor(r) to make meal time fun so using it daily is what we designed it for. Even with that daily use the brushes may last a very long time. During testing we have run hundreds for thousands of treat dispense cycles with medium sized kibble and observed no visible wear on the brushes. The brushes are soft food safe silicon, but amazingly durable! We have also been testing the brushes in the dishwasher for months and have not seen any wear from the dishwasher. So if you take care of the brushes they should last a long time...unless you have a mouse.... During beta testing a unit was left in an area where a mouse decided to snack on the brushes...the mouse was okay, but the brushes are a different story.
